About Our Fraternity

We believe that “fraternity life is not the enjoyment of special privileges but an opportunity to prepare for wide and wise human service.”

History

Phi Theta Pi takes pride in our progressive fraternity. We were first established as an all male fraternity May 15, 1926, by Richard G. Cole and Everett O. Fenton in Des Moines, Iowa. Phi Theta Pi gained international status on October 26, 1936, as a way to broaden the scope of organizations and activities. One of the great accomplishments of our fraternity is that in 1995 we became co-ed, allowing for all students the opportunity to become members of Phi Theta Pi.

We Phi Theta Pi are a select group of 22,000 members from our inception 100 years ago. To date, Phi Theta Pi has 50 chapters across the United States and Canada. Our alumni along with our current working alumni have a proven work history in various fields. These include: Education from high school to college professors and college administrators. Other areas include: Finance, Law Enforcement, Computer Technology, Accounting, Management, Special Investigations, Auditing, Business owners, and Cyber Technology. Community leaders in organizations as Kiwanis International, Rotary International, Lions etc. with state and International leadership.

Members of Phi Theta Pi are students concerned with international business and commerce, as well as encouraging scholarship, loyalty, and cooperation. We believe that “fraternity life is not the enjoyment of special privileges but an opportunity to prepare for wide and wise human service.”
